About Us

My name is Jim Brazell. I have lived in New Mexico for most of my life. I moved to Albuquerque in 1973. My passion for comic books was rekindled that year by a guy, Marty Hay (comic collector extraordinaire) that lived below me in the same apartment complex. I started amassing comic books at a fast rate and over the years the collection grew. I and Gary Carter started the first comic con in New Mexico in 1974. I continued to put on shows in Albuquerque and around the state for another 24 years. I also promoted a show in El Paso, Texas with a friend called “The Border City Comic Con” in 2015.

I opened the first comic book store in Albuquerque and the first in New Mexico in 1979, Nostalgia Ltd. The store was sold in 1983 and the name changed to “Tall Tales”. In 1987 I opened another store called “The Comic Warehouse” with a couple of friends but they left in 1988. Over the next few years, I opened “University Comic Warehouse” in 1990 and another shop in an indoor Mercado in the city. Later a couple of friends and I wrote a quarterly magazine called “The Comic Advisor” distributed by Diamond Comics.

My actual store-owning days ended in 1998 with a divorce but that did not stop my collecting. In 1999 my wonderful new wife and I started attending and setting up at comic conventions which we still do today 13 years after retirement.

I sell comic books (graded and ungraded), toys, baby boomer collectibles, jewelry, steampunk, anime, plush, wall scrolls, Star Wars, etc at shows and on eBay.

This website is going to be another venue to sell items in my vast inventory.

I hope you find something that you like and happy collecting!

Jim Brazell
